Editing the war out of Iraq

Reading today's New York Times article on how the American news media is editing the dead out of the war coverage, I find myself thinking they embedded the wrong journalists with the troops. They should've sent some of these pasty old editors and producers along for the ride. This war will violently destroy thousands of lives, and any news editor who somehow thinks responsible journalism permits the glossing over of the dead and wounded has so lost touch with the reality of this event that he doesn't even begin to understand what the hell it is that's really going on over there.
