« Strong stuff
So that's why it's so popular »
I gave my parents a ride to the airport this morning. (Again.) As she was leaving the kitchen, my mother, who tends to react automatically when she sees something that she thinks needs doing, went to throw something away. Then she collected the bag of garbage, and along with it the compost, to take out.
Me: Just leave it in the bin. I'll take it out.
Moms: It's really smelly.
Me: Close the bin. It'll be fine.
Moms: (Takes the bags.)
On the way to the airport, my mother organized the carry-on luggage.
Moms: You know what I brought?
(I knew. If fertilizer weren't a controlled substance, I'd have told her to take it with her.)
