Instant best sellers
Michiko Kakutani doesn't seem to like Rick Moody's memoir, The Black Veil. She writes:
"The Black Veil" gets off to an engagingly eccentric start, before precipitously degenerating into a self-important and self-involved rant that feels like an unedited piece of 12-step testimony run amok.
*ouch*
The twelfth step is indeed (as I'm sure you know) "Carry this message to others." But you may not have heard that Kakutani is the author of the forthcoming spiritual guide, The Thirteenth Step: Editing. Word is she's having a surprisingly hard time marketing it to support groups, though.
