At your service

The University of Chicago Press (a representative of which actually (incredibly!) emailed me asking that I update my link on the style guide page) has revamped its online Chicago Manual of Style FAQ, and given it a new home. It is still no substitute for the book, but answers more than a few questions regarding the Chicago's take on grammar and usage.

Note, as well, the generous offer extended at the bottom of the FAQ index:

The manuscript editing department at the University of Chicago Press can respond only to questions related to The Chicago Manual of Style. If you have a style question that is not answered here or in the Manual, please submit it to cmosfaq@press.uchicago.edu. Our professional workload means that we can answer only a few questions a week.

Impressive.
